Asians on Intervention!!!

Happy Black Friday, America!

Deals

Up here, we don't celebrate the day-after Thanksgiving, or any holiday, with major sales. The only exception is after Christmas with our Boxing Day, but the sales are shit! No one gets trampled and nothing's like 50% - not like when I was younger. And if no one dies, it's not really a good sale, is it?

I'm happy to report that some Canadians retailers are giving their customers a break by offering some "deals". For example, Body Shop is buy any 3 items for $30 - today only. While their competitor, Bath & Body Works is buy 3 items at regular price and get 3 items free. My math skills are iffy, but I'd say that the B&BW is a better deal.

I've sorta digressed though, but deals are sorta Asian-related topic as Asians luv deals! Now onto the post...

TV
I have approx. 300 watchable channels. Obviously, I'm excluding the music + French ones. (Unless it's porn, I consider them unwatchable!) AND I've just come to the realisation that there's absolutely nadda to watch. It's just 300 channels of the same shit, news, some crappy talk show, perhaps a cooking show, and repeat.

And if there's an American holiday, fuck it. I'm royally screwed because football/baseball's thrown into that pattern of no-channels, plus repeats of crappy talk shows. That's why it's possible for me to disconnect the cable 'cause...there's nothing on!

So most of the time, I'll watch something online. This is particularly true for A&E's Intervention as that channel's not part of my package. Luckily, A&E does post full episodes of this show online, but only after it's aired.

This Monday's episode features Linda, an Asian female who became a Hollywood extra after graduating from college. A motherfuckin' Asian! Anyway, Linda gets some rare disease, gets put on strong painkillers, and the rest is Intervention history.

I'm really anticipating seeing Linda go batshit crazy 'cause I think there's still a heavy stigma with Asians w/ problems that are supposed to be reserved for "other races". For example, I've never seen any Asians on Maury, but that doesn't mean that we don't have paternity questions. Well...not me, but I'm sure other Asians may have that problem.

I actually don't know any Asians with a drug problem either, prescription or otherwise, but I'm sure they're out there. Somewhere. However, until that day arrives, Linda will see us through. Click here to see her preview, Season 8, Ep. 100.
