What the hell's Horlicks, Ovaltine, & Milo?

D just came back from a trip to her homeland, Korea.

Before her departure, she was excited that she would finally be among people of her same size and stature, readily find clothes, shoes her size, etc. Boy, was she wrong.

(D's a coupla inches taller than me, but waaay more petite, so I sorta understand where she's coming from. Sorta. By HK standards, I'm an XL in underwear.)

While looking for shoes, she's a 5US, the salesperson pointed out the children's section. Furthermore, she said that everyone was freakin' tall there! Apparently, there's a Korean saying about "growing your children", popular newspaper articles about nutrition, yet an underlining pressure to remain thin.

I guess "growing your children" excludes crap like giving them a box of Jello powder to snack on during recess, Kool-Aid in their lunch box, trips to McDonald's, Mac 'n Cheese for dinner, or drinks such as Horlicks, Ovaltine, & Milo...despite that rather active soccer player on the tin.

Btw, what's that stuff made out of anyway? HOR-LICKS? (Sorta sounds like something you scribble on a washroom wall.) On the other hand, regular + Strawberry Quik were made out of ground chocolate and strawberries, so it's all good. Mmm...

My mom's + grandma's generation used to think that that stuff was healthy, but honestly, aside from spices, does anything natural/good come in powder form?

Thinking 'bout it now, it sorta freaks me out.
