Rage Against Suburban Zombie-ism Monday, August 10, 2009  Wedding Quote"I'm not sure if it's just our age bracket, but weddings aren't a BIG deal!" - E I'd hafta agree with E on this one...in terms of the whole traditional production of the wedding day. (She was complaining about the wedding that her future sister-in-law wants.) I'm not belittling the commitment of 2 people, 2gether, 4ever, blah, blah, blah. I don't have a problem with that. And I don't think it's cynical or negative, but rather just practical, that after a certain age, all those nitty gritty details that go into the planning just aren't a big deal! Just get me a nice, sparkly ring - no pear shaped nasties! - if you don't have a clue, lemme pick it out, be fair, if not generous in the pre-nup, & take me to City Hall. (Although I will feel slightly gypped for all those weddings that I've attended, given gifts to.) Speaking of practicality, what's up with the long ass wedding dresses??!! I'm barely 5' tall and I just don't get the extra material...which ends up being dragged through the mud, worn once, dry cleaned, and never to be worn again (hopefully!).
