Rage Against Suburban Zombie-ism Saturday, April 11, 2009 Sisterhood of the Traveling Dress?? Okay, at least 1 of my questions was answered: Hervé Léger bandage dresses do come larger than a size XXS! Sewn entirely by hand and apparently pulling the body into that desired "hourglass figure", the bandage dress is the company's trademark. I like the idea that you can go out with 1 article of clothing and not fuss too much about make-up, hair, & other accessories. As the dress becomes the focal point. However, there's a catch...you hafta be brave enough to pull it off! From at least a coupla women online, I've read that they've only dared to wear their dresses ONCE and never again. If you think 'bout it, it's like wearing a swimsuit - without the padding - in public. Aside from having no place to hide body flaws, the rest of it does sound good, but I'm not 100% convinced. (A social experiment, conducted by yours truly, may be required here.) Some questions still linger... 1. What kind of undergarments do you wear? If none, how about...when it gets cold? (Clearly a Canadian mindset.) 2. Is Spanx or other industrial strength sucker-inners needed? OR is it sorta built into the bandages? 3. Is there an ideal body type for this dress? I mean it's been seen on Posh --> Beth Ditto (above) and everyone in-between. However, everyone in-between appear to be rail-thin Hollywood types complete with fake tittays! Even though something as couture as Hervé would be a waste in these parts, there's only 1 way to answer these questions: Actually get a dress and try it on myself! Note: I will not be spending $1000 just to prove a point. Are you whacked on crack? If you thought so then you don't even know me. Will def keep you posted tho'!
